Team Girls Can Grill is fairly new to the BBQ circuit, and already they’re making a name for themselves. Pitmaster Christie Vanover has been competing in the sport of food since 2012, including three bouts at the World Food Championships. In 2015, she launched GirlsCanGrill.com to share her grilling tips and recipes, and quickly became one of the most followed female grillers on Instagram. Before switching from competitive grilling to competitive BBQ, Vanover became a KCBS certified judge, and has judged the coveted Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational Barbecue. In 2017, she formed her Las Vegas-based team with her husband and in-laws, and has received calls in brisket and chicken. Team Girls Can Grill is most proud of their 4th place finish in chicken at the Downtown Throw Down against some of the country’s top teams.
